The fabric of our society is weak. It is crumbing and, we the people of this great country are doing nothing. I am just an ordinary person and I cannot take it anymore. Years ago, I saw an award-winning movie, “Network”, in which the character played by Peter Finch utters this famous line, “I am mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore.” He urges people to say that line and, amazingly, people in the movie and all over the country do. It is time that we, the people of this country, stand up and say, “I am mad as hell and I cannot take it anymore.”
What has happened to our great nation and its citizens. We have become pathetic and passive. This great country was carved by hardworking people who arrived on our shores from all parts of the world to forge a nation founded on freedom and opportunity. Our founding fathers liberated us from the tyranny of monarchy and gave us rights to live our lives in pursuit of liberty, happiness and success. The leaders of the Civil War united us and our great generations fought for our liberty and freedom during the great World Wars. Are we living up to those ideals?

THE UGLY AMERICA
(+ Click to Show/Hide Description & Excerpt)
There are deep divisions within our country, which, if not checked, may cause irreparable harm to the union.
Excerpt
Our long electoral process has exposed the ugly side of America. Maybe, we always had it, but, in recent years, it has become obvious. It has exposed how biased, prejudiced, racist, and divided we are as a country. The prospect that a woman or a black man could, and did, become President of the country has exposed the real ugliness of this country. It not only exposed the deep divisions within the society, but pure hatred and racism that runs through the system. We may be militarily strong, but recent events indicate we are not economically strong. We are no longer a moral power in the world. While we preach democracy to others, we support “friendly” dictators and expose our hypocritical values. There are no dialogues just attacks and counter-attacks.
We are divided not just between two political parties, but the division extends to race, gender and religion, young and old, conservative and liberals, rich and poor, ideologies, and regions. It seems the nation is bent on destroying itself just like the Roman Empire.
